7 Reasons to take your children to the seaside

Summer is for sure the season dedicated to the sun, the sea and the beach, both for adults and the youngest in the house. In this respect, Foscart suggests you 7 good reasons why to take your children to the seaside. Although sometimes it might sound a real challenge, taking your children to the seaside in the summertime is truly important for the well-being of the children themselves and their family. 1.They can explore and get to know new materials. Children learn through their senses and the beach is a perfect natural laboratory. Your child will be able to recognize, through his touch and sight, different materials like dry sand, wet sand, rocks, shells, hot sand, water. 2.The sound of the sea ….is good for naps! According to Dr. Harvey Karp, who wrote the best-seller “Happiest Baby On The Block”, the mesmerising sound of crashing waves creates a sound which is familiar to children, a sound which reminds them of their mother’s womb”. Who wouldn’t like to re-experience a bit that relaxing feeling? 3. They fall madly in love with nature. Small curious crabs, silver fish, shy hermit crabs, small snails and busy ants: what a lot of new creatures you can meet on the beach! Some researchers found that the love for nature is born as children and that being exposed to outdoor environment as children helps you develop your sensitivity. 4. Clean air and salt water. It is scientifically proven that sea air is good for health. It contains in fact several mineral salts like sodium chloride, magnesium and iodine that, among other things, clear the respiratory tract and make it stronger in the event of a cold or cough. In particular, iodine is so necessary when growing because it contributes to the regular thyroid function. Seawater naturally contains mineral salts like copper, sodium and sulphur; it has antibacterial properties which help heal in the event of atopic dermatitis. It is good not only for children but for adults too, so, once you get to the beach, breath deeply the sea air together with your children and swim. 5. Sun exposure The sun brings huge benefits to the body, first of all it stimulates vitamin D synthesis and helps bones to grow harmoniously. Sun exposure improves mood and regulates good sleep, provided that you take the necessary precautions to protect your child: sunscreen and hat. 6.They can be distracted indefinitely The sea offers the opportunity to move around, run, play, joke around, setting your body free after many months spent at home or at the nursery school. It allows to fully exploit the potential of the beach: to build sand castles to play marbles, to fly kites, to splash mom and dad. 7.They interact with other children The seaside is very important for children to meet new people and make friends, for example with the child of the next beach umbrella. All this will enrich their personality and attitude to tackle things. Suggested products for a day at the seaside:
